Maintaining the historical ambience of this much loved Kansas City institution while updating the interior presented unique opportunities for creativity. The column capitals, elevator cages, and carefully selected artifacts from the original 11th Street location were incorporated into the new design. A medley of materials and textures combined with vivid colors enhances the Art Deco atmosphere. The stunning chandeliers with their colorful glass globes were hand crafted by Colorado artists and each has a unique design. The fanciful "parasol" light fixtures are also one of a kind creations. This project had a challenging schedule with an eight-week duration.
