Building a Legacy of Ownership – A.L. Huber’s ESOP Journey

Last week, our Vice President, Casey McBride, had the honor of speaking at the ESOP Association Midwest Regional Conference in Chicago. His presentation highlighted the history of A.L. Huber Construction and our continued journey as an Employee-Owned Company — a story rooted in people, purpose, and shared success.

At A.L. Huber, we believe that when employees have a genuine stake in the company’s success, it strengthens every project, every relationship, and every outcome. Becoming an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company wasn’t just a business decision — it was a cultural commitment to our people.

Casey shared how A.L. Huber’s transition to employee ownership reinforced our core values of collaboration, integrity, and accountability. Every employee-owner, from the field to the office, plays an essential role in shaping the company’s future.

“When you’re part of an ESOP, you’re not just building projects — you’re building something that you personally own a piece of,” Casey explained. “That shared sense of purpose drives innovation, safety, and long-term relationships.”
