Redeemer Fellowship

The Redeemer Fellowship original sanctuary was built in 1889, making it one of the oldest structures in Midtown Kansas City. Over the years, a patchwork of additions and improvements made the facility aesthetically and functionally disjointed. The primary goals of the renovation project were to bring cohesion to the design of the facility, address key functional needs such as life-safety, circulation, and building systems, and inspire spiritual renewal for Redeemer Fellowship’s
congregation and community

The solution to the project included a phased approach to fundraising and renovating key spaces. The first phase, completed in 2013, includes an updated entry; a new two-level gathering space with an open, connecting stairwell that provides improved circulation to the sanctuary; upgrades to mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems; and updated classrooms. The renovation creates a welcoming, spiritual environment that celebrates the humble yet progressive mission of the congregation. Throughout the building, there is an enhanced sense of openness and transparency that draws visitors in from the building’s entry to the sanctuary.
