The recent ribbon cutting for Healing House’s new Family Enrichment Center marks another meaningful milestone for an organization that continues to transform lives across Northeast Kansas City.
For A.L. Huber, this project represents more than a completed renovation—it reflects an ongoing partnership with a mission we’ve proudly supported for years.
Continuing a Meaningful Partnership
This project marks our second collaboration with Healing House, a long-standing community partner dedicated to supporting individuals and families on their recovery journey.
Their work extends far beyond housing—creating pathways for stability, connection, and long-term success. Being part of that mission again, through the built environment, is something our team values deeply.
Revitalizing a Historic Space
Located at 4600 St. John Avenue, the 11,000-square-foot project transformed a century-old storefront into a welcoming, functional environment designed to support expanded services.
The renovation reimagined the building to include:
- Office spaces for staff and program delivery
- Reception and waiting areas designed for comfort and dignity
- Conference rooms for collaboration and counseling
- Dedicated childcare space to support families during services
Every element of the space was designed to feel approachable and safe—an important foundation for individuals beginning or continuing their recovery journey.
Designed to Support Holistic Recovery
The new Family Enrichment Center allows Healing House to expand its reach, offering outpatient and family-focused services that complement its existing recovery housing programs.
These services include individual and group counseling, family support programming, and resources designed to engage not just individuals in recovery, but their entire support system.
This holistic approach reinforces Healing House’s role as a leader in recovery support—addressing the full scope of challenges individuals and families face.
A Community Celebration
The ribbon cutting brought together community leaders, partners, and supporters to celebrate not only a new facility, but the continued growth of Healing House’s impact. The event highlighted the collective effort behind the project and the shared commitment to strengthening Northeast Kansas City.
As the organization continues to grow, this new space serves as a critical piece of its expanding campus—allowing Healing House to reach more individuals and families in need.
Built for Lasting Impact
At A.L. Huber, we are proud to support projects that go beyond construction—projects that help restore lives, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for the future.
The Healing House Family Enrichment Center stands as a powerful example of what thoughtful renovation and strong partnerships can accomplish.
